July 9, 2015

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The start of the 2015-16 men’s basketball campaign may be four months away, but the University of Notre Dame’s Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season schedule is taking shape as the Fighting Irish look to defend their 2015 tournament championship crown.

Season tickets for the 2015-16 season are now on sale and can be purchased by calling 574-631-7356 or visiting UND.com/BuyTickets.

Set to begin year number three in the league, Notre Dame’s repeat opponents for next year’s conference slate includes games against “partner schools” Boston College and Georgia Tech as well as Miami and Wake Forest. The Irish also will face each of the other 15 ACC member schools at least once during the upcoming basketball campaign.

Head Coach Mike Brey begins his 16th season along the sidelines after guiding Notre Dame to a memorable and historic 2014-15 campaign that saw the Fighting Irish advance to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship for the first time since 1979 and also capture the ACC Tournament crown.

Notre Dame returns three starters from last year’s squad that finished with a 32-6 record – the second most wins in school history and the most victories in the Brey era – as well as a 14-4 ACC regular-season mark.

In addition to its “home and away” matchups with the Eagles, Yellow Jackets, Hurricanes and Demon Deacons, Notre Dame’s conference home slate at Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center will include contests against Louisville, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech, while the road schedule will feature contests at Duke, Clemson, Florida State and Virginia.

Notre Dame finished with a 7-1 record against its four repeat opponents last season and registered a 6-0 mark a year ago versus the four schools it will face twice this year.

The entire 2015-16 schedule, including dates and times, will be announced at the beginning of the fall.
