NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Results from the 2012 University of Notre Dame football ticket lottery will be available on-line beginning Friday (July 6) – and, despite continuing high demand, the University’s alumni, friends and fans maintain broad access to coveted Notre Dame football tickets.

The Notre Dame ticket office currently is finalizing the 2012 lottery and preparing refund checks. Lottery results will be available beginning July 6 on-line at www.und.com/tickets or by calling 574-631-7356 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.

Demand for Notre Dame football tickets again proved high for 2012:

  • Nearly $3 million will be refunded this year to unsuccessful lottery participants. The $3 million figure is the highest since 2008. The ticket office will begin to mail those refunds the week of July 9.
  • In excess of 65,000 tickets were requested through the lottery process for the Shamrock Series off-site home game with Miami Oct. 6 at Soldier Field in Chicago. This is the greatest demand for an off-site home game since the current series began in San Antonio in 2009.
  • More than 40,000 tickets were requested for the Sept. 22 Michigan game and more than 39,000 for the Oct. 13 Stanford contest. Both games will be played in Notre Dame Stadium.
  • The Navy and Oklahoma away games prompted particularly strong ticket demand, with both contests ranking among the top 25 all-time road games in terms of requests. More than 14,700 tickets were requested for a pool of 7,500 for the Navy game to be played Sept.1 in Dublin, Ireland.

Alumni who followed University advice to apply for tickets to as many games as possible (suggested minimum of three) to this year’s six home games, for the most part, won tickets to at least one home game in 2012. Senior alumni requests for that designated home game — Purdue on Sept 8 — remained high this year. However, a lottery was not necessary for the senior alumni allocation.

Notre Dame alumni, Monogram Club members and benefactors who make an annual minimum contribution to the University are eligible to participate in an individual game ticket lottery for both home and away contests. In excess of 30,000 tickets per game are available for each home contest for contributing alumni. Away game and off-site home game ticket inventories vary by site. When the quantity of tickets requested exceeds the supply, a random number-driven lottery is conducted. Please visit footballtickets.nd.edu for more information.
