2010 Monogram Club Annual Mass, Meeting & Dinner

March 5, 2010

Notre Dame, Ind. – With the Blue-Gold Football Weekend just around the corner, the Monogram Club is busily preparing for the weekend festivities. During the April 23-24 weekend, the Club will host its Annual Mass, Meeting & Dinner along with reunions for the Notre Dame soccer, swimming and diving, and football programs.

The 11th Annual Blue-Gold Football Alumni Weekend will kick off on Friday night, with a dinner sponsored by Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Members of the current football team and staff will join football alumni and their families for a memorable night filled with great food and fellowship.

Also on Friday evening, the men’s and women’s soccer teams will both be in action at Alumni Stadium, as they face the Mexican National Teams. The women’s game will kickoff at 5:00 p.m. with the men scheduled to take the field at 7:15 p.m. The soccer reunion will continue on Saturday morning, as the Notre Dame family celebrates the dedication of Alumni Stadium. All monogram winners are welcome to attend the 10:00 a.m. ceremony as well as the post-dedication stadium tours. A special thank you to monogram winners Tom Crotty, and Rob Snyder for their generosity in making possible a brand new home for the Notre Dame soccer programs.

On Saturday, the Monogram Club will sponsor a pregame luncheon on the lawn of the Jordan Hall of Science, and we welcome and encourage all monogram winners and their families to attend. Take a break from lunch to catch ND football alumni in Notre Dame Stadium for a flag game, prior to the 1:35 p.m. kickoff of the 81st Annual Blue-Gold Spring Football Game.

Soccer alumni will also have a chance to return to the field for the alumni games on Saturday afternoon.

To conclude the weekend festivities, the Monogram Club will host its Annual Mass and Meeting in the Monogram Room, followed by dinner on the Joyce Center Concourse. Highlighting this year’s dinner will be the Moose Krause Distinguished Service Award presentation to longtime swimming and diving coach, Dennis Stark, as well as opening remarks by football head coach, Brian Kelly.

In conjunction with the presentation to Dennis Stark, the swimming and diving programs will welcome back alumni for a team reunion. Swimming events will include a Friday night alumni dinner in South Dining Hall and alumni activities at the pool on Saturday.

Other weekend activities on campus during Blue-Gold Weekend are numerous. Irish baseball and softball will be playing at home throughout the weekend, and in addition, Notre Dame will serve as host for the BIG EAST Tennis Championships.
