Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. – Nine different Georgetown players scored to lead the 12th-ranked Hoyas to a 13-7 victory over 20th-ranked Notre Dame. The Irish lost for the second consecutive outing and the fifth time in six contests to fall to 4-5 on the season, while Georgetown improved to 6-3.

Greg McCavera, Andy Flick and Tyler Gamble paced the Hoyas with two goals and one assist each. Scott Urich also added a pair of goals, while Greg Hubschmann and Brian Price both tallied once and dished off an assist.

Jimmy Keenan led Notre Dame with two goals. Keenan got the Irish on the scoreboard, its only lead of the contest, with an unassisted goal 54 seconds into the contest. Georgetown, however, responded five unanswered goals to take a 5-1 advantage after one quarter.

Notre Dame snapped the Hoyas’ 5-0 run with 9:443 left in the second quarter when junior Ben Savage scored an extra-man goal off a feed from Dan Butler, but McCavera scored the first of his two goals off a pass from Flick to push the Georgetown lead to 6-2 with 8:12 remaining. Revere La Noue scored with 57 seconds remaining before halftime to cut the deficit to 6-3.

Georgetown pushed its lead to 8-3 scoring the first two goals of the second half before Keenan netted Notre Dame’s first goal following the break with 4:16 remaining in the third quarter to pull to within 8-4 before Gamble closed out the scoring in the third quarter with 2:27 left.

The Hoyas scored three of the first four goals in the final 15-minute stanza to take a commanding 12-5 led with 10 minutes to play in the contest.

Brian Hole finished the game with 14 saves in goal for Georgetown, while Alex Cade made 12.

Notre Dame returns to action next Sunday, April 19 as the Irish play host to Massachusetts in a 1:00 p.m. contest.
