NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame rowing team joins a competitive field taking part in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC)/Big Ten Double Dual this weekend at Griggs Reservoir in Columbus, Ohio. The No. 14 Irish will compete against No. 1 Ohio State and No. RV Michigan State during the one-day regatta on Saturday.

The morning racing session is tentatively scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. (ET) on Saturday, with the afternoon heats set for a 1 p.m. start following a one-hour break.

Notre Dame’s second novice eight will occupy the second lane against Ohio State at 10:10 a.m. in the first Irish race of the regatta. The first novice eight will begin from lane one against the Buckeyes at 10:30 before the second/third varsity four will face a pair of Ohio State entries at 10:50. The Notre Dame first varsity four is set to take the water at 11:10 against Ohio State, with the second varsity eight to follow at 11:30. The first varsity eight race between the Irish and the Buckeyes will cap the morning race session at 11:50.

Afternoon racing between the Notre Dame and Michigan State second novice eight will commence at approximately 1 p.m. The first novice eight from each crew will follow at 1:20, with both team’s second/third varsity fours on the course at 1:40. Notre Dame’s first varsity four squares off with the Spartans at 2 p.m., setting the stage for the second varsity eights at 2:20. The Irish and Michigan State cap the series with first varsity eight racing at 2:40.

The ACC/Big Ten Double Dual is the second official race on the 2015 spring schedule for Notre Dame after the Irish opened against a challenging field at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational on March 14-15 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Notre Dame’s NCAA boats claimed one victory (first varsity eight during the Saturday afternoon session) and added eight runner-up finishes during its annual Spring Break trip to the Oak Ridge regatta.
