Feb. 10, 2005
The University of Notre Dame men’s lacrosse team, ranked 10th in the preseason Inside Lacrosse national coaches poll, will play its only preseason game on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. (EST) in the Loftus Sports Center against the Club All-Stars, a team of professional players. It will be one of only four chances for Irish fans to see their team at home during the 2005 season and the only one before the March 19 home opener against Butler.
Notre Dame returns 17 monogram winners and six starters from last year’s squad that was 7-5 (4-1 GWLL) and just missed the NCAA Championship, ending the year ranked 11th in the Inside Lacrosse media poll and 12th by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. The Irish, 11th in the Lacrosse magazine preseason rankings, begin the regular season – which opens with four consecutive games away from home – on Feb. 27 at #21 Penn State at 1 p.m.
