Irish Gear Up for Midweek Dates with Valparaiso and Purdue Fort Wayne

Notre Dame (15-18) will host two midweek games this week at Frank Eck Stadium, as Valparaiso (11-22) and Purdue Fort Wayne (13-22) come to town. The games mark the beginning of an extended home stand for the Irish, as Notre Dame will not go on the road again until April 30 at Michigan State.

Notre Dame comes off a difficult weekend at now No. 11 North Carolina. So far this season, the Irish have played four teams that are currently ranked in the Top 25 (D1Baseball), with one more to come in No.12 Wake Forest.

RHP DJ Helwig will start on the mound for Notre Dame vs. Valparaiso. It will be his first-career start, and the fifth appearance of the season for the freshman. He has pitched 3.1 innings this season with four strikeouts.
